In Norway, Bokken Lasson is mostly known for having established the Chat Noir cabaret theatre in Kristiania in 1912. In fact, she was the founder of Norway's cabaret and show tradition. But she accomplished much more than that. This is the story of what happens to a sensitive person wanting to conquer the world with a small voice, accompanied by an equally unpretentious lute, a woman who never gives up, but is always searching for "the sacred fire". It's the story of a woman who stumbles, again and again, but gets up and goes on. We follow Bokken Lasson's struggle to be recognised for who she is and what she represents. The story is a tribute to people who never give up. "Bokken Lasson - Stumbling Success" is a music theatre performance, made exclusively for radio. Elements are taken from cabarets, music shows and opera, as well as radio plays and documentaries. |
