| Another Danish family took Curtis into thier home to raise him as thier own. Chris and Christine Helleberg, they has a son within the next year, William Helleberg. and several years later a daughter, Mary Helleberg (Ferris). While Curtis considered the Helleberg's as his family, he had close ties to his blood siblings as well which continued throught thier lives. One interesting complication that grew out of this mixed family involved the Danish Jensen family name. Both of Curtis's mothers maiden names were Jensen. When Curtis got married years later, to Hazel, her mother's maiden name was also Jensen. Add to that a few Christines and you have a very confusing family tree. Curt and Hazel's children always knew the Jensen's were related; it took years to learn just how. |
